3.6 understand how germinating seeds utilise food reserves until the seedling can carry out photosynthesis

Food reserves are in the cotyledons, sustain the plant growth until leaves are able to photosynthesis to support the plant.

    1. That worries me, although this blog is fantastic in general, sometimes I do feel it lacks some key content. That's why i dont completely on this blog for revision, i use many sources, like the textbooks, and other sites and vids.

  3. My bio edexcel exam is nearer what should I do to achieve an A* please help me should I need to solve latest paper or go for revision .
    If latest paper so from which year till which year should I do please tell me . And bytheway it's an amazing website I had recommended this website to my friends as well and they all are satisfied .

  6. When a seed starts to germinate, it gets glucose for respiration from its food store. This transfers the energy it needs to grow. During germination, absorption of water triggers production of plant hormones, stimulating Amylase synthesis.
    Amylase breaks food reserves of starch in cotyledon into glucose for aerobic respiration.
    This process continues until the seedling can carry out photosynthesis.
